CHICAGO 02 January 2020 — The Pilipino-American Seniors Association of Chicago (PASAC) celebrated its ninth anniversary with a Christmas party on 07 December 2019 at the Northeast Regional Levy Senior Center at 2019 W. Lawrence Avenue, Chicago.

The program started with a parade of past PASAC beauties who carried titles as “Mr. and Mrs. Valentines” from 2010 to 2019 and the title, “Ms. Independence” from 2015 to 2019. The program brought entertainment and cheer to members of the seniors community center who were present for the afternoon program.

Philippine Consul General to Chicago Gina A. Jamoralin, who was invited as guest speaker, spoke about the importance of Christmas and how Christmas celebrations bring together families and friends to celebrate friendship and life. She thanked PASAC for continuing its tradition of bringing Christmas cheer to its members and to other senior groups in Chicago. The program also featured Philippine songs and dances performed by PASAC’s senior members and was capped by a raffle of Christmas gifts and refreshments.

Consul General Jamoralin also thanked PASAC through its president, Mr. Frank U. Alvarez, for supporting and participating in some of the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago’s projects such as the “Paskuhan sa Chicago” in 2018 and 2019 and for performing a cultural dance during the Philippine Independence Day flag-raising event held at Daley Plaza, Chicago on June 12 this year.
