07 April 2014 – The Philippine Embassy in Berlin, composed of Consul Adrian Cruz, Mr. Ruben Atienza, Ms. Melinda Hernias, Ms. Lia Sale, Ms. Rowena Abaya and Mr. Melchor Francisco conducted a consular mobile outreach service in Hamburg on March 29 in cooperation with the Federation of Filipino Organisations in Northern Germany e.V. (FFONG).

The consular team coordinated with the officers and members of the Board of Governors of the FFONG in implementing a pre-registration system to manage the flow of consular applicants. 

The activity, which was held at the Ökumenische Forum HafenCity, Hamburg, is the first outreach to be conducted for the year.   The consular team facilitated a total of 92 e-passport applications, 30 assorted authentication and notarial services, seven (7) civil registry applications and one visa application. In addition to these consular services, the team also offered legal consultation and advice for former Filipinos who are interested to acquire dual citizenship.   

Six consular mobile outreach activities have been planned for 2014, which will cover the cities of Hamburg, Stuttgart, Bonn, Frankfurt, Munich and Essen.  The mobile outreach is part of the Philippine Embassy’s efforts to bring its consular services closer to Filipinos residing in different parts of Germany.   END
