PH Consulate General in Los Angeles Welcomes PSOSEC Class 2019-01

LOS ANGELES 09 December 2019 – The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles hosted a welcome reception for the participants of the Public Safety Officers Senior Executive Course (PSOSEC) Class 2019-01 at the Consulate General’s Community Hall on 23 October 2019.

Present during the event were the Class’ 25 members and 13 officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the Los Angeles Field Office (FBI-LAFO) led by Supervisory Special Agent Karin Valaas Amira Yu, Program Manager of the Philippine Public Safety College Romulo Diaz Jr. of the Police Attaché Liaison Office in the West Coast, and the Philippine Consulate General officers and staff.

The Philippine delegation, which was comprised of officers from the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and the Bureau of Fire Protection, was headed by Police Lieutenant Colonel, Arturo Brual Jr.

In his remarks, Consul General to Los Angeles Adelio Angelito S. Cruz expressed the Philippine government’s deepest appreciation to the FBI Los Angeles Field Office for maintaining and strengthening their partnership with the Philippines through annually hosting the PSOSEC. 

Consul General Cruz also congratulated the participants for successfully completing the course, marking another milestone in the security and law enforcement cooperation between the Republic of the Philippines and the United States of America. He further encouraged the participants to find ways to impart what they have learned to their colleagues for the betterment of the police force back home.

The PSOSEC highlights the close friendship between the Philippines and the United States and the two countries’ common desire to further expand bilateral relations solidly based on shared history, common commitment to democratic principles and robust economic ties. The course given by the FBI provides invaluable capacity-building programs to enhance the participants’ competencies for higher command positions in provincial, regional and national levels in the Philippine National Police.
