PH Consulate General in Frankfurt Kicks Off Registration Period for the Overseas Voting

OVR Frankfurt 1PHOTO: The Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt, Germany started accepting on 16 December 2019 applications for registration for the Overseas Voting for purposes of the May 9, 2022 National Elections in accordance with Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 10619.

Philippine Consul General to Frankfurt Evelyn Austria-Garcia has encouraged Filipinos in Germany to exercise their right of suffrage and to take part in nation-building by registering for the overseas voting in order to be eligible to vote during the May 2022 national elections. Filipinos residing in Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland Palatinate, Saarland and Thuringia may register at the Consulate in Frankfurt or during mobile/field registrations.

Under Republic Act No. 10590 the registration shall commence no later than six months from the conduct of the last national elections. Ms. Juvelyn Gujilde Appelt was the first registrant under the system of continuing registration which will last from 16 December 2019 to 30 September 2021. “I am excited to vote for the first time in Germany as an overseas voter”, said Ms. Appelt.
