Pinay Chef in Argentina Launches Book on Filipino Cuisine

BUENOS AIRES 13 December 2019 –– The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires, headed by Ambassador to Argentina Linglingay F. Lacanlale joined, Filipina chef, Christina Sunae, in the book launch Filipino cuisine entitled “Christina Sunae, Kusinera Filipina,” on 11 December 2019 at Cantina Sunae, a popular Filipino restaurant owned by the author in Palermo Hollywood, Buenos Aires. A reception was held after the book launching, serving popular Filipino food such as pansit and lumpia.
Chef Sunae spent her growing years in the hometown of her Filipina mother in the province of Pampanga. She received her first cooking lessons from her mother. She has since become a successful owner of a popular local restaurant that serves Asian fusion cuisine, including popular Filipino dishes such as sisig, lumpia, and pancit. Chef Sunae is a well-known chef and respected in the culinary circle of Argentina.
The book was funded by the Cultural Diplomacy Unit of the Department of Foreign Affairs to promote Filipino cuisine and culture in Argentina and the other Latin American countries.
The book launching was attended by local media personalities, including the production team of the book. END
