The meetings were arranged in line with the CFO’s “Ugnayan” Program, which aims to strengthen the ties between the Filipinos in diaspora and their motherland - the Philippines. It also hopes to enhance networking among members and leaders of community organizations and explore ways by which the Philippine government can render support to programs and services for overseas Filipinos.
FASGI, with its President Geo Sitjar-Sargent at the helm, provided a tour for the CFO delegation in FASGI’s facility. He also described FASGI’s various programs for the Filipino-American community such as helping Filipino migrants obtain their U.S. citizenships, implementing mental health programs, assisting veterans, and helping promote local artists’ works.
SIPA President Lyle del Mundo likewise introduced his organization’s programs in assisting OFWs, particularly the provision of human housing, health services and promotion of Filipino arts and culture.
Joining Vice Consul Pastrana was Assistance-to-Nationals Officer Judelyn M. Cuaresma. END
