PH Embassy in Oman Conducts Consular Outreach Anew

MUSCAT 17 December 2019 –– The Philippine Embassy in Oman conducted its fourth quarter consular outreach to the Filipino Community in Salalah on 13 December 2019 at the Muscat International Hotel Plaza. 

The consular outreach team processed 57 e-passport renewal applications, 11 notarial services and six certifications and miscellaneous services. In addition, 42 overseas Filipinos were able to claim their new passports in Salalah. 

The participation of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO)-Muscat in the Consular Outreach also processed 37 Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) membership renewals, three OFWs Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs), and six requests for assistance.  POLO-Muscat also provided a Post-Arrival Orientation Seminar (PAOS) for 15 newly arrived OFWs in Salalah.

Salalah is the second largest city in Oman, with an estimated population of 375,000. The Philippine Embassy, located 1,000 km away in Muscat, endeavors to organize a consular Outreach every quarter to service the needs of the estimated 10,000 Filipinos residing in Salalah. END
