PH Embassy in Damascus Celebrates Christmas Through Gift Giving
PHOTO: On 22 December 2019, the Philippine Embassy in Damascus joined the Samahan ng mga Filipino sa Syria (SAMAFIL) to celebrate Christmas with the Embassy’s distressed wards, currently sheltered at the Filipino Workers Resource Center (FWRC/Halfway Quarters).
Chargé d’affaires, e.p. and Head of Post Alex V. Lamadrid led the celebration with parlor games, gift-giving, and a sumptuous feast. The event started with the seventh Misa de Gallo (Spanish for Rooster’s Mass or Shepherds’ Mass), a Catholic Mass traditionally celebrated around midnight of Christmas Eve, and in the days immediately preceding Christmas.
