BEIJING 02 January 2020 –– The Philippine Embassy in Beijing hosted the Rizal Day Commemoration and Year-End Reception at the Sentro Rizal in the Embassy remises.
The Philippine Embassy welcomed more than 150 members of the diplomatic corps, Chinese government officials, and private sector partners, in a gathering that paid tribute to the 123rd Anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal on 30 December 2019.
In his opening remarks, Philippine Ambassador to China Jose Santiago “Chito” Santa Romana welcomed guests from countries which Dr. Jose Rizal visited during his prolific travels in all corners of the globe. Ambassador Sta. Romana recalled how these journeys enriched the values that Dr. Jose Rizal passed on to Filipinos, what continue to bind them today into one nation that continues to pursue a free, just, and humane society.
