PH Embassy in Tel-Aviv Highlights PH-Israel Agricultural Cooperation in AGRO-IP Day

TEL AVIV 28 January 2020 –– Upon the invitation of Dr. Bresser & Co., the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv presented Philippines-Israel Agriculture and Trade Relations on 20 January 2020 before 60 Israeli start-up chief executive officers, innovators, investors, and members of the diplomatic corps.
Third Secretary and Vice Consul Judy Razon, head of the Embassy’s Economic Section, presented an overview of Philippines-Israel agriculture and trade relations and highlighted the strong development cooperation between the two countries particularly the GRANOT Agrostudies Program (International Center for Agricultural Internship in Israel). Under this self-funded program, 30 Philippine state colleges and universities bring around 600 Filipino agricultural students to train under Israeli experts and learn about the latest techniques in farming which may be applied to modernize the Philippine agricultural sector. She also presented the opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the areas crop production, dairy farming, and modernization of the value chain of agricultural commodities.
“The Philippine Department of Agriculture has taken initiatives to revolutionize our agricultural sector by engaging young agripreneurs and introducing innovation in all processes in the agricultural sector,” Vice Consul Razon added when discussing opportunities for Israeli researchers, businessmen and investors in the area of agriculture.
AGRO-IP Day is the first meeting organized by Dr. Bressler & Co. for Israelis engaged in agriculture innovation to emphasize the importance of intellectual property rights and encourage young innovators and scientists to develop products and studies related to the industry.
