Prague Febiofest Quick Change.Final

11 April 2014 - Philippine Ambassador to the Czech Republic Victoriano M. Lecaros reported to the Department that Filipino films continue to attract attention from film enthusiasts in the Czech Republic at the International Film Festival Prague- Febiofest which took place from March 20 to 28 at Cinestar Andel, Prague.

The Febiofest screened 141 films from 60 countries divided into 19 program sections.   This year the festival attracted 61,500 visitors, which is more than last year.

FebioFest is the largest film festival in Prague, Czech Republic. The International Film Festival presents a wide range of contemporary and retrospective samplings of high-quality films including alternative, film-school and amateur works to a diverse viewing public.

This year Febiofest selected Philippine indie film “Quick Change” on the life of a transgender “obsessed with beauty and youth” by filmmaker Eduardo Roy, Jr. The film won the Critic Jury’s Prize at the Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema held in France in February this year. The jury commended the Filipino filmmaker for “presenting the harsh life of a certain community” through imagery. Film Director Roy was at the Febiofest for the opening of his film in Prague.  END
