Young Filipino Social Journalists Bag the ASEAN Youth Social Journalism Contest 2019

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 05 February 2020 –– Young Filipino “Social Journalists,” Camille Joyce M. Lisay and Joaquin Victor D. Tacla bagged first prize in the ASEAN Youth Social Journalism Contest 2019 with their “4Ps for Philippines” campaign.
The “4Ps for Philippines“ campaign that helps raise awareness about the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Philippine government through social media platforms.
The top 20 aspiring ASEAN Social Journalists also attended a four-day workshop on social journalism at the Perpustakaan Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Library in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam from 16 to 19 September 2019.
The ASEAN Youth Social Journalism Contest 2019 was opened to young and talented “Social Journalists” to share and promote fact-based and compelling messages showcasing the importance of reliable and transparent governance in ASEAN and its Member States through media platforms.
The contest was supported by the ASEAN Foundation and the ASEAN-USAID PROSPECT and a joint project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and U.S. State Department, with the additional support from Scoop, a multimedia platform for news, commentary, culture, and life in Brunei Darussalam.
