bangkok financial learning seminar

14 April 2014 - The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok conducted a consular outreach program in Koh Samui Island on April 5. Koh Samui is located off the coast of Surat Thani province in South Central Thailand. It is a district of Surat Thani, and is home to about 300 Filipinos who are mostly working in the island’s burgeoning tourism industry.

During the outreach, the consular team rendered passport and other consular services, including authentication of documents and issuance of Filipino citizen identification cards. The Embassy was assisted by the Filipino Community in Samui led by its President, Nora Lim.

Vice Consul Jay Alcantara also conducted a Financial Learning Seminar (FLS), the 15th of such seminar to be held by the Embassy for Filipinos in Thailand, and updated the Filipino community about the Embassy’s cultural and community projects. Minister and Consul General Edgar B. Badajos moderated a community dialogue on consular matters, programs of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration and Social Security System, Philippine immigration, and the ASEAN Economic Community.  END
