Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Calls on OPCW Director-General

THE HAGUE 07 February 2020 — Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Policy Enrique A. Manalo called on the Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Fernando Arias on 31 January 2020.
The Philippine Delegation to the said call included Philippine Ambassador to Netherlands Jaime Victor B. Ledda, Second Secretary and Consul Ma. Theresa M. Alders, and Office of the Undersecretary for Policy Principal Assistant Regina Angeli Ambrocio.
Discussions included the international and regional developments relevant to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), Philippine support for the OPCW, and the OPCW’s planned Centre for Chemistry and Technology Project, among others. END
During the meeting, Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Policy Enrique A. Manalo expresses support to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Welfare (OPCW) and discussed issues in preparation for the Philippines’ membership in the Executive Council of the OPCW for the term 2020-2022. The last time the Philippines was elected to the Executive Council of the OPCW was in 2006-2008.
