Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Meets with the Dutch Business Community

THE HAGUE 07 February 2020 — Philippine Ambassador to the Netherlands Jaime Victor B. Ledda with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Brussels Commercial Counsellor Benedict Uy and Philippine Agriculture Office to the EU in Brussels Agriculture Counsellor-Designate Jerome Bunyi co-hosted a business dinner on the occasion of the visit of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Policy Enrique A. Manalo to the Netherlands on 30 January 2020 at Saloon Queen Emma of Hotel Des Indes in The Hague.
Guests comprised of representatives from various economic sectors, including banking, water management, infrastructure, shipbuilding, agriculture, maritime services, importation and distribution, retail trade, and information technology.
Undersecretary Manalo updated the Dutch business representatives on economic developments in the Philippines and encouraged them to participate in one of Asia’s fastest growing economies and informed them about the encouraging discussions at the inaugural Philippines-Netherlands bilateral consultations.
In 2018, the Netherlands was ranked as the Philippines’ 13th largest trading partner out of 222 countries, 10th biggest export market out of 213, and 24th import supplier out of 198.
Dutch companies have strongly contributed to the commercial ties that nurture linkages between the Philippines and the Netherlands. END
