Waikiki Seniors Learn Why it’s More Fun in the Philippines

HONOLULU 10 February 2020 – As part of its community engagement and efforts to promote the Philippines as a prime tourist destination, the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, represented by Consul Grace Anne G. Bulos, gave a talk about the Philippines for the Waikiki Community Center (WCC) senior citizens (kupuna) on 04 February 2020.
Consul Bulos’ presentation covered the Philippines’ geography, climate, people, history, government, economy, and culture. She also showed participants video clips of tourist sites and activities that can be done in the Philippines that would make any visitor’s stay “more fun.”
“The many similarities and shared values between the Philippines and Hawaii have served as a solid foundation for the growth and development of Philippines-Hawaii relations”, Consul Bulos said. She also explained the critical role of the Consulate in strengthening and deepening the friendship between the Philippines and Hawaii in various aspects such as economic cooperation, and people-to-people links.
The Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tour will be held from 19 to 26 July 2020, which will take participants to Manila, Iloilo, and Boracay.
The Waikiki Community Center is a non-profit organization that serves more than 20,000 seniors, families with young children, and other people in need each year. END
