PH Embassy in Manama Conducts First “First Friday Services” for 2020

MANAMA 14 February 2020 — The Philippine Embassy in Manama conducted its first “First Friday Services” for 2020 on 07 February 2020 with a record breaking number of passport applicants served.
The Consular team accepted and processed a total of 139 applications for passport renewal, with most of the applicants consisting of families with minor children. The team also processed a total of 17 notarial applications, one civil registration, released a total of 61 passports and notarized documents and registered a total of 41 applicants for overseas voting.
The Embassy’s First Friday Services is an ongoing program since November 2017 which aims to respond to the needs of overseas Filipinos in the Kingdom of Bahrain, especially for those who cannot come on weekdays to avail of the Embassy services. The Embassy is open to serve the public from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon every first Friday of the month and offers to Filipinos in the Kingdom its various services aside from consular services. This includes Assistance-to-Nationals; processing of Overseas Employment Certificate with Philippine Overseas Labor Office; Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Pag-Ibig and Social Security System services; registration of overseas voting for the May 2022 elections; and the release of available COMELEC voters ID.
