PH Consul General to Toronto Visits the PH Collection at the Royal Ontario Museum

TORONTO 18 February 2020 — Consul General to Toronto Orontes V. Castro and Deputy Consul General Edna May Grecia-Lazaro visited the Philippine collection of the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) on 12 February 2020.

The officials from the Philippine Consulate General were welcomed by officials of the ROM, Deputy Director for Collections and Research Dr. Mark D. Engstrom, Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships of the Directors Office Dr. Sascha Priewe, and Senior Curator for African Arts and Cultures and Deputy Head of the Department of Art and Culture Dr. Sylvia Forni.

Drs. Priewe and Forni gave Consul General Castro a tour of the Philippine collection.  Meanwhile, Consul General Castro discussed the various ways by which the Philippine collection can be enhanced and augmented. They also explored possible projects and collaborations.  Another meeting will be scheduled in the coming months to further discuss areas of future cooperation between the ROM and the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto.
