PH Honorary Consulate in Valencia Holds Business and Investment Conference in Teruel

TERUEL 18 February 2020 — The Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Valencia Atty. Manuel Carrión Sánchez presented on 13 February 2020 a business and investment seminar for Spanish companies in Teruel to promote economic opportunities in the Philippines.

The seminar was held in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce in Teruel, Caja Rural de Teruel, the Association of Entrepreneurs of La Paz de Teruel Industrial Park (Asociación de Empresarios del Polígono La Paz de Teruel or ASEMPAZ), and the Government of Aragon.

Around 50 participants, including members of the Chamber of Commerce, company representatives from various sectors, and academics and students from the University of Zaragoza participated.

President of the Chamber Antonio Santa Isabel, during his speech stated that they are eyeing the Philippines as a good market for their agro-industrial companies.

Consul Carrión, meanwhile, highlighted the fast economic growth of the Philippines and the government’s landmark infrastructure program, which could be of particular interest to Spanish companies specializing in construction and related industries. Consul Carrión also mentioned how Filipinos are especially known for labor services and how they could benefit the transport and agro-industrial sector for business companies based in Teruel.

The Philippine Honorary Consulate in Valencia also covers the provinces of Castellon, Alicante and Albacete. END
