Secretary Locsin Attends PH Embassy in Riyadh’s Multi-purpose Hall Groundbreaking Ceremony

RIYADH 27 February 2020 — Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. attended today the groundbreaking ceremony of a multi-purpose hall at the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh.

Joining Secretary Locsin were Philippine Embassy personnel led by Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Adnan V. Alonto and members of the Technical Committee in charge of the construction of the said Multi-purpose hall.

“The Multi-purpose hall is envisioned to provide a venue for the expanding number of services provided to overseas Filipinos living in the Kingdom,” Ambassador Alonto said in his welcome remarks.

The Secretary, for his part, stressed President Rodrigo Duterte’s mandate of prioritizing the welfare of overseas Filipinos worldwide and noted that the multi-purpose hall will allow the embassy to further address the needs of the Filipinos in Saudi Arabia.

A visit of the chancery and an introduction of the embassy’s services subsequently followed. The chancery visit also gave the chance for the Embassy clientele to meet with Secretary Locsin.

Secretary Locsin is currently in Riyadh, as part of the back-to-back Official Visits to Oman and Saudi Arabia. END
