Secretary Locsin Visits Halfway Shelters in Riyadh

RIYADH 27 February 2020 — Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. visited halfway shelters of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO)-Riyadh for overseas Filipinos awaiting repatriation to the Philippines.

Secretary Locsin met with the shelter wards and visited their rooms to assess their conditions. Upon listening to the their plights, he assured the continuing assistance of the Philippine Government.

A total of 200 female and children staying in the shelters were given care packages and treated to lunch during the Secretary’s visit.

“You will never be alone and the Philippine Government will extend all efforts to bring you back home safely, as promised by President Duterte,” Secretary Locsin said to the wards.

The Secretary is currently in Riyadh, as part of the back-to-back Official Visits to Oman and Saudi Arabia. END
