PH Consulate General in Macau Meets with Macau Labor, Health and Public Security Officials

MACAU 02 March 2020 — Officials from the Philippine Consulate General in Macau SAR met with officials from the Macau Labor Affairs Bureau, Public Security Police Force and the Health Bureau on 20 February 2020 to discuss the situation of Filipinos in Macau amid the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Consul General to Macau Lilybeth R. Deapera was accompanied by Consul Red Genotiva, Labor Attaché Ma. Nena German, Assistance-to-Nationals Officer Antonio Allam, Jr., Welfare Officer Zosima Maria Santos, and Administrative Assistant Ms. Jinky Bayog.

The meeting clarified the position of the Macau Government regarding issues raised by the Consulate on the matter of Filipinos who were told to go on forced unpaid leave, access to facemasks of tourists and dependents of non-resident workers in Macau, as well as the situation of Filipino tourists left stranded in Macau.
