Presidential Adviser Secretary Mama-o Meets with UAE Labor Official

ABU DHABI 02 March 2020 – A Presidential Mission Team, headed by Presidential Adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and Muslim Concerns Secretary Abdullah D. Mama-o, was received by United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) Assistant Undersecretary Abdulla Al Nuaimi, representing MOHRE Minister Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, in Dubai on 19 February 2020.
The Presidential Mission Team is going around the Middle East to check on the condition of Filipinos in the region.
Assistant Undersecretary Al Nuaimi conveyed to Secretary Mama-o the UAE’s aim of ensuring a safe, secure, and prosperous environment for all its residents of 200 nationalities, including Filipinos. Secretary Mama-o conveyed the Philippines’ gratitude to the UAE for its hospitality to Filipino residents and for being a secure country for peoples of all nationalities.
Secretary Mama-o and Assistant Undersecretary Al Nuaimi also discussed bilateral consular matters during their meeting.
Secretary Mama-o was accompanied by Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Hjayceelyn M. Quintana, Philippine Embassy in Kuwait Chargé d’affaires Mohd. Noordin Lomondot, Undersecretary Edwin Doremon Bael, and Labor Attaché Alejandro Padaen.
Secretary Mama-o and the Presidential Mission Team also met with representatives of Filipino community organizations at the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi to brief them about the Mission’s purpose and to directly interface with them about the Filipino community’s condition. END
