HONG KONG 17 December 2019 — With the aim to promote Philippine trade, investment, retirement, and tourism opportunities, the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong participated in the 2019 Smart Biz Expo held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), Hong Kong from 4 to 6 December 2019.

Organized by the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTCDC), the Expo is a one-stop platform for enterprises, especially small and medium ones, to explore market opportunities and trends in business transformation through innovation, creativity, and application of technology and design.

The Consulate’s booth showcased the Philippines as a tourism and retirement haven through a series of video presentation and a display of native Filipino delicacies such as polvoron (shortbread made of flour, sugar, and milk), dried mangoes, and otap (oval-shaped puff pastry).

The Consulate’s representatives actively participated in the Expo through interaction with visitors and dissemination of information brochures on Philippine tourism, trade, and investment.

The Smart Biz Expo, in conjunction with HKTDC Hong Kong International Franchising Show, drew an estimated 5,000 visitors, including 300 exhibitors worldwide. END
