PH Embassy in Canberra Joins 500-day Countdown to the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines

CANBERRA 17 December 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Canberra joined the launch of the 500-day Countdown to the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines with the theme, “Victory and Humanity,” on 14 December 2019.

Embassy personnel and their families launched the countdown clock through the official website of the Philippine Embassy and together sang the Quincentennial Song at the official residence of the Philippine Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega. The countdown clock can be viewed at www.philembassy.org.au.

Ambassador De La Vega said the event is part of the simultaneous countdown in the cities of Davao, Manila and Lapu-lapu City, and in Philippine Foreign Service Posts all over the world. She hopes Filipinos in Australia will participate in celebrating this important milestone in the history of the Philippines which also coincides with the 75th Anniversary of Philippines-Australia Relations in 2021.
