PH Consulate General in San Francisco Launches the 2020 Very Important Pinoy Tour

SAN FRANCISCO 02 January 2020 — The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco held the Launch of the 2020 Very Important Pinoy Tour at the Museo ng Lahing Pilipino of the Philippine Center on 16 December 2019.

The event was attended by more than 40 guests from various travel agencies, media partners, and members of the Filipino community in the Bay Area.

In his welcome remarks, Philippine Consul General to San Francisco Henry S. Bensurto, Jr. shared testimonials of millennial participants of the 2019 VIP Tour, who expressed that the Tour was a life-changing experience for them as it enabled them to discover their Filipino roots.  More than the general metrics of increasing tourism arrivals to the Philippines, he noted that these testimonials demonstrate the VIP Tour’s success, as it ensures that Filipino-Americans, especially the younger generations, shall continue to be vanguards of the Philippines’ heritage and culture, which is line with the Spark*Connect*Empower movement.

Tourism Representative Soleil Tropicales presented the tour itinerary to the attendees.  Founder and Chair of Rajah Tours Alejandra Clemente was on hand to answer questions from the participants.  Ms. Lyn Abad of Pacific Air Leisure, which serves as a Travel Coordinator for the VIP Tour, and Station Manager of Philippine Airlines in San Francisco Delia Merano also attended to answer questions on the pricing.
