PH Renewable Energy Mission Takes Place in Germany

BERLIN 17 March 2020 — A Philippine Fact-Finding Renewable Energy Mission took place from 09 to 13 March 2020 in Germany with a focus on innovations in the renewable energy field and the latest trends in clean and sustainable energy.
The Philippine renewable energy companies and executives, representatives from the German Energy Sector, and officials from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the German-Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) and other energy experts and consultants from Germany participated in the event which took place mostly in North Rhine Westphalia, Germany’s industrial center.
Among the participants included One Renewable Energy Enterprise Inc. Vice President for Finance Lilian Narida, Renewable Energy Association of the Philippines (REAP) President Erel Narida, Ibarra Bio Med Intl Trading Corporation President Bayani Nito, Nico Leibenguth of Servo Electric Inc., Martin Brugger of IGCV, Stephanus Lintker of Energieagentur, Simon Doleschal of GPCCI, Sebastian Ulm of Eclareon, and Solarants Owner Christian Kirschning.
Philippine Ambassador to Germany Ma. Theresa Dizon-De Vega welcomed the participants during the opening ceremony on 09 March at the STEAG Headquartes in Essen, Germany. Deputy Consul General and Head of the Economic Section of the Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt Emilio Fernandez also graced the event with his presence.
In the course of the Mission, Philippine Honorary Consul in Essen and Chairperson of STEAG Joachim Rumstadt delivered a presentation on the scope of STEAG’s energy projects around the world, including the Philippines. He likewise introduced new renewable technologies designed by STEAG, which include more mobile products for off-grid areas such as containerized solar PV solutions for use even in off-grid clinics, disaster management centers, and water purification systems. STEAG is one of the leading energy companies in Germany.
The Mission aims to achieve greater engagement between the renewable energy sectors of the two countries given Germany’s expertise in this field and new government policies calling for more sustainable energy sources in the Philippines. END
