DUBAI 17 March 2020 – The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, in partnership with Dubai Police, hosted another community forum for the Filipino community on 29 February 2020 at the Dubai Police Officers Club.
Philippine Consul General to Dubai Paul Raymund Cortes welcomed the continuous collaboration between the Philippine Consulate and the police authorities in disseminating information on relevant laws to the Filipino migrant community in Dubai. He urged the more than 100 Filcom leaders and members in attendance to be aware of the laws and regulations of the host country and to share what were discussed during the forum.
The awareness program focused on cybercrimes and touched on other topics on security, such as scams, lost and found of items, child safety, narcotics, and traffic safety. Dubai Police also presented its various programs and initiatives, including its Smart Police Stations, which are integrated interactive self-service police stations set up in key areas in Dubai.
Dubai Police officers likewise welcomed questions from the community and cautioned the public against sharing unconfirmed and unofficial information about coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on social media.
The Consulate General has been successfully organizing similar community awareness forum, in partnership with Dubai Police, for the Filipino community for the past few years. END
