OSLO 02 January 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Oslo joined the Filipino community in observing the custom of attending the nine-day series of masses leading up to Christmas. This is the second year for the Embassy to host the “Unang Simbang Gabi in Oslo”. The Unang Simbang Gabi was held at St. Joseph’s Church on 15 December 2019.
The celebration started with a Holy Rosary conducted in Filipino language. This was followed by a Holy Mass celebrated by the very supportive Filipino priest, Fr. Jose Johan Dumandan. The talented Honefoss Filipino Community Choir provided the music. At the end of the mass, members of the Sacred Heart Filipino Chaplaincy performed the first three parts of their play entitled Panunuluyan. They will be performing parts of their play until the finale on Christmas eve.
After the mass, attendees proceeded to the Ungdomslokalet to enjoy the delightful Filipino dish of arroz caldo and tsokolate provided by the Philippine Embassy in Oslo. END
