16 April 2014 - Upon the invitation of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) through the Office of the Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché, Thai Cadet Pongpeera Disapirom from the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy of the Royal Thai Army (RTA) officially joined the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 2018 on April 1.

According to Colonel Reuben Basiao, Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché to Thailand, Cadet Pongpeera will undergo the “summer camp” training (basic cadetship training) for the next two (2) months and will be incorporated in the Cadet Corps, Armed Forces of the Philippine (AFP), by June 2014.

Cadet Pongpeera joins a distinguished list of Thai alumni of PMA, including General Tumrongsak Deemongkol (PMA Class 1976, retired) who was top 8 of his batch, General Thawip Netniyom (PMA Class 1981), who graduated top of his class and is now a Senior Staff Officer of the Chief Defense Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, and Major Mongkol Khum-arwut (PMA Class 2001) who is now with the Royal Thai Army.
