PHNOM PENH 17 December 2019 — Twelve Filipino children participated in an art workshop organized by Sentro Rizal Phnom Penh of the Philippine Embassy on 08 December 2019.

Entitled “Paskong Pinoy,” the workshop was conducted by 16-year old Justinia delos Santos, who wanted to share with her fellow third culture Cambodia-based Pinoy kids a clear understanding and appreciation of Filipino Christmas, through art.

She demonstrated the basic step-by-step technique on painting using water-based acrylic medium.  The theme focused on parols (lanterns) illuminating a church during a simbang gabi (dawn mass), a Filipino tradition.

The parents of the participants were amazed with the unearthed talent of their children as shown in their “master pieces”. END
