PH Consulate General in Jeddah Calls for Stronger Filipino-Muslim Community in the Aseer Region

JEDDAH 02 January 2020 — The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah called for unity among Filipino-Muslims at the opening of the Basketball Tournament for Filipinos in Abha and Khamis Mushait on 26 December 2019. The tournament was organized by the Islamic Educational Center (IEC) based in Khamis Mushait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the event, Vice-Consul Alfred Kristoffer Guiang commended the IEC for initiating activities that promote goodwill and camaraderie among the Filipino-Muslim community in the Aseer Region. He urged the Filipino community to set aside their personal and professional differences and work as one strong community.

The opening ceremony of the Basketball Tournament signals the start of a series of basketball tournaments that aim to promote stronger relations among the Filipino-Muslim community in the Asseer Region. END
