PH Embassy in Moscow Holds Consular Outreach, Gathers Filcom for Christmas Party in Yerevan

YEREVAN 06 January 2020 — The Philippine Embassy in Moscow had a consular outreach and hosted a Christmas party for the Filipino community on 22 December 2019 at the Congress Hotel in the capital city of Yerevan in Armenia.

The consular outreach was held from morning to afternoon and followed by the Christmas party for the Filipino Community in the evening.

Among the services provided during the consular outreach were passport renewals, authentication and notarials, applications for Embassy IDs and voters registration. The Consular outreach team, headed by Consul General Bob Ferrer, also assisted Filipino nationals with issues and problems.

In the evening, over a hundred members of the Filipino community and their families joined the Christmas party hosted by the Philippine non-resident Ambassador to Armenia, Carlos D. Sorreta.  Ambassador Sorreta is the resident Ambassador to Russia and is accredited to Armenia.

In his remarks at the Christmas party, Ambassador Sorreta reiterated the Embassy’s commitment to serve Filipinos under its jurisdiction.  He said that while in Yerevan he met with key government officials to deepen bilateral relations.  He said among the issues discussed was the possibility of negotiating a bilateral labor agreement to protect the rights and welfare of Filipinos working in Armenia and to prevent illegal recruitment.  Ambassador Sorreta also said that he hosted a reception to promote the Philippines in Armenia. 

With Ambassador Sorreta at the Filipino community Christmas party were Consul General to Moscow Bob Ferrer, Vice Consul Grace Perpetua and Vice Consul Khaye Alpay and several members of the Embassy staff.

During the Christmas Party, Philippine products were given away in a raffle.  The Embassy also organized parlor games with Philippine products as prizes. END
