PH Embassy in Moscow Resumes Overseas Voters Registration

MOSCOW 26 December 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Moscow re-opens its voting registration for the upcoming 09 April to 09 2022 elections for President, Vice President, Senators, and Party-List Representatives on 16 December 2019.
As part of the activity after less than seven months the poll has been closed during the May 2019 Overseas Filipino National Elections in Russia, the Embassy’s official website and Facebook pages listed the Deactivated Voters as well as made available access to the Philippine Commission on Elections (COMELEC) website for Active Voters list, and call on the Filipino community to register within its jurisdiction.
The first applicant from the Filipino community, Ms. Alma Paras Gutierrez from Subic, Zambales, expressed her desire to be an overseas voter in Moscow by requesting a vote record transfer. The Overseas Registration Team rendered a total of five voting applications on its first day.
On 22 December 2019, a mobile voting registration will be serving the Filipino Community in Yerevan, Armenia. Similar overseas missions will be held in other Russian cities including Minsk, Belarus, and Nur Sultan and Almaty in Kazakhstan, throughout the overseas registration period.
The Embassy, with the support of Echo Seminar, began its overseas voting preparations on 07 December 2019 for the overseas voters registration period which ends in September 2021. The seminar was given by Consul General to Moscow Robert O. Ferrer, Jr. and Attaché Ceferino Caldez and Attaché Ray Parojinog, attended the COMELEC training at Tel Aviv, Israel on November 2019.
The Embassy intends to make the registration process easier for the Filipino community in Russia and to make sure they will be able to exercise their right to vote. Details on the registration procedure as well as other relevant information are in advisories that the Embassy will be issuing regularly. Registration will be from 16 December 2019 to 30 September 2021. END
