PH Philately Static Exhibit Concludes Embassy's Cultural Diplomacy Program 2019

WASHINGTON 26 December 2019 — A 16-page frame containing Philippine stamps issued from the Spanish colonial period to the present times, is displayed at the lobby of the Philippine Chancery Annex Building on 19 December 2019 as the final cultural diplomacy activity of the Embassy in 2019.

The static exhibit, which includes stamps for the Spanish Galleon mail and during the Japanese occupation era, is co-organized by Sentro Rizal Washington D.C. and the International Philippine Philatelic Society, through the initiative of IPPS Immediate Past Coordinator Overseas Operations Don Peterson. The exhibit will run until 27 December 2019.

“The exhibit traces important phases of Philippine history through the stamp collection. We are grateful to the International Philippine Philatelic Society for providing yet another interesting means to learn more about our country’s history”, Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel G. Romualdez said in a statement.

Founded and incorporated in Manila in September 1974, the International Philippine Philatelic Society is a non-profit, educational organization with a growing membership overseas, especially in the United States. END
