PH Embassy in Manama Holds “Harana: A Night of Classics” Concert

MANAMA 08 January 2020 — The Philippine Embassy in Manama held a concert entitled “Harana: A Night of Classics”, featuring Filipino artists, Dingdong Fiel, Rachelle Gerodias and joined by a South Korean Cellist Kyongnim Nam at the Grand Ambassador Ballroom of The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel on 01 December 2019.
Dingdong Fiel is an accomplished pianist, vocalist, composer, musical director and orchestra conductor. He earned his master’s degree in piano and piano Accompaniment at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar, Germany.
On the other hand, Rachelle Gerodias, the Philippines’s premier soprano. She has a master’s degree in vocal performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music in New York, U.S.A. She also has a string of awards and recognition in the field of opera and classical voice performance
All of the performers are graduates of the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music.
The artists’ repertoire included compositions by Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and Puccini. The beloved songs Mutya ng Pasig by Nicanor Abelardo and Sa Kabukiran by Manuel Velez were also performed by the artists.
A total of 300 guests from the various government and private sectors of Bahrain, diplomatic corps, and members of the Filipino community attended the event. END
