JAKARTA 08 January 2020 — Philippine products such as Cebu dried mangoes, Lumban barongs, Oishi snack food, and Filipino dishes such as rellenong bangus, turon, ginataang, halu-halu, bilo-bilo, palitaw, etc. were popular at the 52nd International Charity Bazaar organized by the Women’s International Club Jakarta (WIC) held on 11-12 December 2019 at the Jakarta Convention Center.
Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia Leehiong T. Wee along with his wife Rosalind L. Wee, spearheaded the Philippine Embassy participation in the charity bazaar.
The WIC initiated fund-raising activities to generate resources and community partnerships. The funds raised are intended to make an impact on the lives of disadvantaged people in the larger society. The Philippine Embassy raised and donated 13.8 Million Rupiah (about US$1,000) from the proceeds of Philippine products promoted at the bazaar for WIC charity projects and programs.
The two day event was participated in by 51 foreign embassies and around 200 of business enterprises in Jakarta. END
