THE HAGUE 18 December 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in The Hague vigorously promoted in various ways its observance of the 18-day campaign to raise awareness on ending Violence Against Women (VAW) on 25 November to 12 December 2019.

At its flag-raising ceremony on 04 December, Philippine Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda read President Rodrigo Duterte’s message in observance of the National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of VAW.  On the same occasion,  Ambassador Ledda, together with the Embassy’s officers and staff recited  the Prayer for 18-Day Campaign to VAW.

A roll-up banner of the 18-day campaign and its theme, "VAW-free community starts with Me" is prominently displayed at the embassy’s main hallway and flashed on a TV screen at the consular section to inform its daily clientele for consular services, Filipinos and locals alike of the on-going campaign to safeguard  women and girls from abuses and promote and protect their rights.

To gather greater public support and awareness, the Embassy’s homepage and its social media account on Facebook also carried the official banner of this year’s EVAW official logo-design.    Copies of RA 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) were also distributed to various guests and participants during Embassy’s cultural events held  between the 18-day campaign.
