PH Consulate General in Los Angeles Prepares for “New Normal”
LOS ANGELES 23 April 2020 – With initial pronouncements being made by U.S. authorities on phasing back the country into a “new normal” post-lockdown, the Philippine Consul General to Los Angeles held a virtual meeting among its personnel to discuss the guidelines on gradually resuming its consular services while taking into account local measures that are expected to be put in place to arrest future coronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) outbreak.
Philippine Consul General to Los Angeles Adelio Angelito S. Cruz presided over the virtual meeting of the Consulate General’s officers and staff through the teleconferencing platform Google Meet on 20 April 2020.
As the California and Los Angeles stay-at-home orders remain in place, Consulate General personnel were reminded to continue serving the Filipino community by promptly responding to inquiries raised through calls or emails, as well as extending appropriate assistance to Filipinos with pressing concerns.
It may be recalled that in compliance with local ordinances drawn up to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Consulate General temporarily suspended consular services to the public, beginning 19 March 2020, until further notice.
The Consulate General assures the Filipino-American community that the public will be informed of any developments in its work schedule with adequate lead time through an Advisory to be posted on the Consulate General’s official website and Facebook page. END
