ABU DHABI 24 April 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi assisted in the repatriation of 58 Filipino nationals on 23 April 2020. Similar to the previous repatriation efforts of the Embassy, this was made possible through close coordination and cooperation between the Philippines and the UAE authorities, especially in the speedy processing of exit clearances.

“This brings to 473 the number of Filipinos repatriated so far since the start of the pandemic,” said Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Hjayceelyn M. Quintana.

The repatriates expressed thanks for the joint efforts of the Philippines and the UAE Government in bringing them home even with the current challenges on travel. They were met in Manila by representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs (DFA-OUMWA) and were subjected to the 14-day quarantine period administered by the Department of Health-Bureau of Quarantine (DOH-BoQ).
