THAILAND 25 April 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, with the full support of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), repatriated 185 Filipinos in Thailand on 24 April 2020 as part of the repatriation efforts of the government for Overseas Filipinos affected by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The repatriates consist of six infants and 179 adults from Bangkok, its neighboring provinces, and remote provinces such as Chiang Rai, Narathiwat, Songkhla, Phuket, and Roi Et.

Many of the repatriates lost their jobs in the hospitality and education sectors as a result of the COVID-19 situation and associated preventive measures.

The Embassy continues to accept repatriation requests from Filipinos in Thailand and will organize repatriation flights as soon as these are funded and approved.
