PH Embassy in Dhaka Repatriates Filipinos in Maldives

DHAKA 26 April 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh and the Philippine Consulate in Malé, with the help of the Filipino Community organizations in Maldives, facilitated the successful repatriation of 336 Filipinos from Maldives on 25 April 2020.

Filipinos who joined the DFA-chartered flight suffered from job losses and many uncertainties due to the situation brought about by the COVID–19 pandemic. They expressed appreciation that a special flight back to the Philippines was made possible for them during this difficult situation.

The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka also worked closely with the Philippine Airlines in organizing the repatriation. END
