SEOUL 18 May 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Seoul assisted in the repatriation of 45 stranded Filipinos to Manila on 14 May 2020 via Korean Airlines Flight KE 623.

The Embassy, upon receiving confirmation from Korean Air of the Filipino nationals among the stranded passengers at Incheon International Airport, coordinated with the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila and sent a team to the airport on 04 May 2020 to meet with and to check on the conditions of the stranded Filipino passengers

Leading up to their departure, the Embassy officials went to the airport several times from 04 May to 14 May to provide the Filipinos with assistance, including financial aid amounting to KRW 130,000 for each passenger from the Embassy and Philippine Overseas Labor Office-Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (POLO-OWWA). Face masks, sanitizers, vitamins, blankets, toiletries, and meals were likewise provided. END
