PH Consulate General in Agana Joins Global #LightItblue Campaign in Honor of COVID-19 Frontliners

AGANA 19 May 2020 — The Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam joined the global #LightItBlue campaign to honor the many thousands of Filipino healthcare professionals around the world, including those in Guam, who are serving at the frontlines of the global fight against COVID-19 on 18 May 2020.

In response to the Philippine Consulate General’s special request to join the #LightItBlue campaign, Fujita Property Guam, Inc. used blue spotlights to light up the ITC Building’s facade and the Philippine flag, alongside the U.S. and Guam flags from 14 May to 17 May 2020. Fujita Property Guam owns the ITC Building where the Philippine Consulate General is located.

The facade of the Official Residence of the Philippine Consul General in Jonestown, Guam was also illuminated in blue on 15 May 2020.

A May 2019 report of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics cites a total of 2,180 Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations and 980 Healthcare Support Occupations on Guam.  An estimated quarter of the said total are Filipinos or of Filipino ancestry. END
