ISTANBUL 20 May 2020 ­– The Philippine Consulate General in Istanbul continues to liaise with different municipalities in Istanbul to secure assistance for Filipino nationals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Kagithane Municipality, which hosts majority of Filipino nationals in Istanbul, donated food boxes and personal hygiene packs for Filipino nationals on 14 May 2020.

The food boxes contain several types of pasta, bulgur, rice, cooking oil, canned tomatoes, beans, flour, and tea. While the personal hygiene packs contain washable face masks, hand sanitizer, and soap. Three other municipalities in Istanbul that the Consulate liaised with previously provided food packs to Filipino nationals in their areas, namely: Besiktas, Sisli, and Beyoglu. END
