THE HAGUE 21 May 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in The Hague delivered on 17 May 2020 100 packs of food relief for Filipino workers in The Hague and Amsterdam who temporarily lost their livelihood due to the lockdown imposed in the Netherlands.

In coordination with the Filipino Community in the Netherlands (FilCom-NL), a group of Filipino community organizations that came together to centralize the delivery of financial aid and food relief, the food relief packages were handed by the Embassy for distribution to the FilCom-NL members who are in need.

Apart from the food relief package, the Embassy encouraged the affected Filipino workers in the Netherlands to avail of the DOLE-AKAP, which is a one-time financial assistance of 200 US dollars from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO)  in Berlin.  The Embassy likewise thanked the Filipino organizations and leaders that have pooled resources together to help DOLE-AKAP applicants pay for their Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) membership.
