TOKYO 27 May 2020 — Philippine Ambassador to Japan Jose C. Laurel V joined the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), through the leadership of Director General Isidro S. Lapeña, in an online interactive dialogue with over 150 leaders from the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) community all over the world on 22 May 2020.
The forum was an opportunity to inform the overseas Filipinos (OFs) and OFWs of TESDA’s programs to improve their competitiveness, and ensure that they acquire the needed certification, in the local and global markets. The participants also provided their recommendations on training programs that can be implemented by TESDA.
“I encourage our kababayans to take advantage of these programs and level up their skills for their personal and career development. The programs by TESDA are free-of-charge,” said Ambassador Laurel.
The TESDA Online Program (TOP) is an open educational resource that aims to make technical education more accessible to Filipino citizens through the use of information and communication technologies. TOP provides an effective and efficient way to deliver technical education and skills development services to a broader audience, wide range of users, and all learners at a lesser cost.
