25 April 2014 - The Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) met with representatives from the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) on April 24 to discuss greater cooperation between the two bodies. Both CPR and AICHR recognised the importance of mainstreaming human rights considerations across ASEAN's political security, economic, and socio-cultural pillars. They also discussed the need to improve coordination on ASEAN's human rights agenda among the relevant ASEAN bodies and organs to facilitate the implementation of the ASEAN Human Rights Declaration. The Philippines was represented at the meeting by Ambassador Elizabeth Buensuceso,  Philippine Permanent Representative to ASEAN (bottom row, fourth from right) and Ambassador Rosario Manalo, Philippine Representative to AICHR (top row, third from left).
