PH Embassy in Oslo Resumes Daily Consular Services

OSLO 03 June 2020 – In parallel with Norway’s gradual easing of COVID-19-related restrictions, and in an effort to continue extending consular services to Filipinos in Norway amid the pandemic, the Consular Section at the Philippine Embassy in Oslo resumed daily operations beginning 02 June 2020.

The Embassy is now open from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon, Mondays to Fridays except holidays, to receive applications, and from 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M., Mondays to Fridays except holidays, for release of passports and other documents processed by the Embassy. In keeping with social distancing guidelines, all services are extended by appointment only, and only those who email the Embassy complete requirements are given appointments.

At the Embassy, all applicants are encouraged to observe hygiene protocol, including the wearing of face masks and use of hand sanitizer. Entry and exit of applicants from the Embassy premises are also strictly controlled, to avoid excessive gathering of persons at the consular area. All visitors are likewise requested to accomplish a Health Declaration Form to assist in contact tracing efforts, should the same be needed.

From 19 March to 19 April 2020, only emergency services were available at the Embassy, following Norway’s introduction of strict social distancing measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The Embassy resumed consular services on 20 April 2020, on a by-appointment basis and on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays only.

The Embassy plans to resume full consular services, where walk-in applicants will be welcomed, once Norway eases its travel restrictions and applicants from Iceland, as well as passport applicants from Finland and Sweden, can visit the Embassy safely. END
