PH Embassy in Damascus Celebrates National Heritage Month 2020

DAMASCUS 08 June 2020 — In celebration of the National Heritage Month, the Philippine Embassy in Damascus held a series of cultural events with this year’s theme “Mga Kwentong Pamana” on 26 May 2019 at the Chancery.
Filipino Workers Resource Center (FWRC) Housemother Kathleen Llarena started the event with a lecture on Philippine cultural property and heritage, in particular the UNESCO Heritage sites in the Philippines. It was followed by short story-telling and video showing of various aspects of Philippine culture and tradition.
The wards of the Filipino Workers Resource Center of the Philippine Embassy in Damascus performed traditional dances such as Cariñosa, Itik-itik and Singkil, showcasing the richness of the cultural heritage of their respective regions. END
